Definition: The word "South Korea" refers to the country located in East Asia, encompassing all of its islands that lie between 136°E and 20°W, including South Korea (which borders China) as well as Japan, where it is also called "Japan North". On the other hand, "North Korea" is a term used to designate the northern part of the country, which includes both its capital city Pyongyang and some of its industrial areas. In terms of defining "Korea North", this refers to the area that stretches north from the line dividing the two countries, with Korea being to the east and North Korea being to the west. The term is often used to refer to an area of conflict or instability, as it was during the Korean War when North and South Korea were in a state of war. Korea North includes both the country itself and its islands.
